After a distinguished career with Medtronic, Mr. Neisz became Chief Technology Officer of American Medical Systems. He went on to become President and CEO of Envoy Medical. Most recently he was President and CEO of Leptos Biomedical, a company developing a neuro-modulation therapy to treat obesity and type-2 diabetes.

Jon St. Germain

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. St. Germain joined ValenTx in 2013 and has over 20 years of technical and managerial experience in the medical device industry. He started his career at Scimed Life Systems and assumed technical leadership over a broad array of innovative products that resulted in an acquisition by Boston Scientific. His career progressed as Sr.Vice President of R&D/Operations at CoAxia, followed by the appointment as Vice President of R&D at St. Jude Medical. Most recently and in the capacity of Vice President of R&D, he contributed to the successful market introduction of a treatment for GERD at Torax Medical. Mr. St. Germain is recognized as an inventor on 30+ patents.

Dr. C. Daniel Smith, MD

Chief Medical Officer - Part Time

Dr. Smith joined ValenTx in 2014. He has a distinguished medical and academic career in a variety of innovative surgical and medical disciplines. His career bears witness of proven leadership and pioneering advancement in minimally invasive surgery. In 2007 Dr. Smith joined Mayo Clinic as Professor of Surgery and is the former Chair of Surgery and Surgeon-in-Chief. Dr. Smith has authored or co-authored extensively and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal for Laparoendoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques. He serves on the Board of Governors and is the Past-President of SAGES.

David Krenn

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Krenn joined ValenTx in 2014 and has 14 years of finance and accounting experience including 10 years of management experience in the medical device industry. Prior to joining ValenTx, he was the Vice President of Finance and Director of Operations for Hemosphere. Hemosphere was acquired by CryoLife in 2012. He started his career in public accounting at KPMG and went on to serve various financial management roles at Guidant (acquired by Boston Scientific in 2006) and ATS Medical (acquired by Medtronic in 2010).

Allen Putnam

Vice President of Clinical, Regulatory, and Quality

Mr. Putnam has over 30 years experience in Clinical, Regulatory and Quality Systems management, which include Vice President positions at ATS Medical, Urologix, St Jude Medical. During his career, Mr. Putnam has successfully designed numerous clinical study strategies and was instrumental in obtaining over 30 regulatory approvals through the FDA as well as several OUS regulatory approvals.
