Jon St. Germain

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. St. Germain joined ValenTx in 2013 as the Chief Operating Officer primarily responsible for product definition and procedural development. Under his leadership the ValenTx system for treating obesity and obesity-related co-morbidities has been transformed regarding procedural simplicity and clinical outcomes. In September 2015 Mr. St. Germain was appointed Chief Executive Officer and a member of the ValenTx Board of Directors. He has over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry with a broad skill set encompassing innovative early stage development to product commercialization in both large, multi-national companies and venture backed, start-up organizations. Prior appointments include executive management roles at Torax Medical, St. Jude Medical, CoAxia and Boston Scientific. Mr. St. Germain is an inventor on over 30 US and International patents.

C. Daniel Smith, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Smith joined ValenTx in 2014. He has a distinguished medical and academic career in a variety of innovative surgical and medical disciplines. His career bears witness of proven leadership and pioneering advancement in minimally invasive surgery. In 2007 Dr. Smith joined Mayo Clinic as Professor of Surgery and is the former Chair of Surgery and Surgeon-in-Chief. Dr. Smith has authored or co-authored extensively and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal for Laparoendoscopic & Advanced Surgical Techniques. He serves on the Board of Governors and is the Past-President of SAGES.

David Krenn

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Krenn joined ValenTx in 2014 and has 15 years of finance and accounting experience including 10 years of management experience in the medical device industry. Mr. Krenn has experience in providing financial leadership in the areas of product development, manufacturing, strategic planning, commercialization, fundraising and business development. Prior to joining ValenTx, he was the Vice President of Finance and Director of Operations for Hemosphere (acquired by CryoLife in 2012). He started his career in public accounting at KPMG and went on to serve various financial management roles at Guidant (acquired by Boston Scientific in 2006) and ATS Medical (acquired by Medtronic in 2010).

Allen Putnam

Vice President of Clinical, Regulatory, and Quality

Mr. Putnam has over 30 years of experience in Clinical, Regulatory and Quality Systems management, which include Vice President positions at ATS Medical, Urologix, St Jude Medical. During his career, Mr. Putnam has successfully designed numerous clinical study strategies and was instrumental in obtaining over 30 regulatory approvals through the FDA as well as several OUS regulatory approvals.
